Wall Cavity Insulation
The Warm Front scheme provides grants for the installation of wall cavity insulation. A maximum of £2,700 (or £4,000 if oil central heating is involved) is avaliable however you must meet the following critria:
1. Householders aged 60 or over in receipt of one or more of the following benefits:
- Income Support
- Council Tax Benefit
- Housing Benefit
- Job Seekers Allowance (income-based)
- Pension Credit
2. Householders with a child under 16, or pregnant women with maternity certificate MAT-B1, in receipt of one or more of the following benefits:
- Income Support
- Council Tax Benefit
- Housing Benefit
- Job Seekers Allowance (income-based)
- Pension Credit
3. Householders in receipt of one or more of the following benefits:
- Working Tax Credit (with an income of less than £15,460, which must include a disability element)
- Disability Living Allowance
- Child Tax Credit (with an income of less than £15,460)
- Housing Benefit (which must include a disability premium)
- Income Support (which must include a disability premium)
- Council Tax Benefit (which must include a disability premium)
- War Disablement Pension (which must include a mobility supplement or Constant Attendance Allowance)
- Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (which must include a mobility supplement or Constant Attendance Allowance)
- Attendance Allowance

Loft Insulation
The Warm Front scheme provides grants for the loft installation. A maximum of £2,700 (or £4,000 if oil central heating is involved) is avaliable however you must meet the following critria:

Renewable Energy Sources
The Low Buildings Carbon Programme provides grants for the following technologies:
- Solar photovoltaics
- Wind turbines
- Small hydro
- Solar thermal hot water
- Ground source heat pumps
- Automated wood pellet fed room heaters/stoves
- Wood fuelled boiler systems
Households can get a maximum of £2,500 funding towards installing the above technologies. This grant is only avaliable if you have:
a. insulated the whole of the loft of the property to meet current building regulations e.g. 270mm of mineral wool loft insulation or suitable alternative
b. installed cavity wall insulation (if you have cavity walls)
c. fitted low energy light bulbs in all appropriate light fittings
d. installed basic controls for your heating system to include a room thermostat and a programmer or timer.
